Recently, Cargill opened its first premixing plant in Pandan, East Java, Indonesia. According to Cargill's 24-year research, 40% of consumers in the Asia-Pacific region prioritize texture when choosing food and beverages, and show a preference for diversity in candy products, such as hard candy/soft candy/carbonated candy. Cargill said: "Indonesia is one of the key markets. The new advanced mixing facility enables Cargill to develop specialty product solutions that combine modified starches, sweeteners, pectin and carrageenan to help Asian consumers create exciting candies with different textures."
